Mindfulness = Stress-Less-Ness
By truly paying attention to what’s going on around us, instead of operating on auto-pilot, we can reduce stress, unlock creativity, boost performance, and lead a happier, more peaceful life.
The majority of humanity is aimlessly living in the space between the ears, instead of fully participating directly with what is actually happening right in front of them at every moment. When we get “all caught up in ourselves” we become consumed with thinking millions of thoughts, and we don’t even realize we are missing the joy of the moment we could be in! When this happens, and it happens as “daily living” for most people, we stress ourselves out!
Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and were thinking, “What am I making for dinner?” and you have no idea what they said? Ever misplaced your keys, and for the life of you, you don’t know where you put them? And, now you are frustrated trying to find them? What was going on in your head when you laid them down? Was it forgetting the grocery list, having to do the laundry, picking up the kids, finishing your report that was due by the end of the day? All of the above? Were you worried that you would be late for all of that? Did you have a not so nice conversation with yourself?
Mindless chatter and negative thoughts in our head make us scattered, crazy, worried and tired. We are out of control! THAT is Mind-LESS-ness. You’re OUT of your mind!
All mindlessness is physically, emotionally, and spiritually stressful. How many of us live our lives this way?
Mindfulness is the process of purposely, actively, and happily noticing and focusing on things. Notice your surroundings. Notice your thoughts, notice how you are behaving.
Notice PEOPLE!
“Noticing” makes you more aware of the context and depth of things. It’s a shift in perspective.
You put your ATTENTION on how well you are paying attention! Your mind is in the same place as your body. When you are “ALL-IN”, you are in the present moment with avid focus and sincere intention, fully engaged in what you are doing. Try it! It is a joy-full and rewarding place to be! Mindfulness is energy and life enhancing! And, as we know and feel….”Mindlessness” is energy and life draining.
